NEGATION (general)
To make a sentence negative requires two parts in French:
ne
comes before the conjugated verb and pronoun
objects *
pas, jamais, rien,
etc.. come after the verb.

to the pronoun
objects:

|
1. Before the verb: 2. In the passsé composé (or any compound tense): before the helping verb: Il
vous a donné un cadeau pour votre anniversaire. 3. Before the
infinitive, however ne comes before the conjugated
verb!!: Il
pourrait nous donner un cadeau pour notre anniversaires. |
------------------------------------------
In compound tenses (like
passé composé,
plus que-parfait, etc) the second part of the negative
usually precedes the past participle.

Il n'a jamais
vu ta vache! - He never saw your cow!
